The Facts
On May 14, 1948, the day before the expiration of the British Mandate, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, declared "the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz-Israel, to be known as the State of Israel".
To the best of our knowledge, William Branham never visited the State of Israel during his lifetime.
What William Branham believed
William Branham believed Israel became a nation at the same time he received the commission from the angel but he got his dates all wrong. He also believed he would be instrumental in Israel coming to Christ
He would be instrumental in the salvation of Israel
Let me say this: The very hour that Israel become a nation… The reason I've always believed—before my class here—that there was something, THAT I'D HAVE A PART BEFORE I DIE OF GETTING ISRAEL BACK TO THE LORD, because when… The very hour, by the Pan American chart, that Israel was declared a nation for the first time for two thousand years since they'd been scattered, not a people, it was that very same hour, exactly to the hour, that the Angel of the Lord met me up yonder and sent me to the—with the Gospel—the very same thing: May the 7th, 1946." [1]
He couldn't remember when Israel became a nation
Later on in life It kept appearing. It would show me things; I'd say just what It told me. It never has failed to come to pass yet. 1947, '46 rather, on April the se—or May the seventh in the room, an Angel of the Lord came into the room." [2]
And look. The very night, the very day that the angel of the Lord met me, 1946, on May the seventh, at Green's Mill, Indiana, that same day the treaty of peace was signed for the Jews and they were a established nation for the first time for twenty-five hundred years. Hallelujah." [3]
And a strange thing of that, that you might not know, the very day the Angel of the Lord called me out, May the 6th, 1947, and issued the gift to pray for the sick, was the very same day that Israel become a nation for the first time for twenty-five hundred years. Oh, I believe there's something in it.[4]
The very day that Israel was declared a nation again for the first time for twenty-five hundred years, that same night the Angel of the Lord sent me out to pray for the sick, the very same time, May the 6th, 1946, the Lord Jesus did that.[5]
Coming back they have made them a nation again, and on May the sixth, 1947, the Jewish flag was raised over Israel for the first time for twenty-five hundred years. The oldest flag in the world was raised for the first time in twenty-five hundred years.[6]
During this time of the carrying away into Babylon was a very marking time. First, they were carried down into Egypt. Second, they were carried into Babylon, and the Gentiles was issued in. And then, the third, they were carried or scattered by the Roman empire, and 1947 on May the seventh, they were once more recognized among the nations of the world for the first time for twenty-five hundred years, the Jews were." [7]
Remember the Jewish people was declared a nation 1946, on April, May the sixth, on 1946, and the Angel of the Lord appeared to me on April, on May the seventh, 1946.[8]
But did you know, on May the 6th, 1946, that flag come back over Jerusalem again? Did you know on May the 7th, 1946, the Angel of the Lord appeared to me (the next day).[9]
"When them Jews come in, the six-point star of David flying, the first time for twenty-five hundred years, the oldest flag in the world; they become a nation on the sixth day, on the seventh day of May, 1946, on the sixth day, rather, and on the seventh that—day, the same time the Angel of the Lord appeared down there and sent out for—this message. Exactly right. It would swirl you to know what takes place.[10]
And last week, you know what taken place in Israel, the last sign. Israel became a nation in 1947 on the same night the Angel of the Lord visit me.[11]
And I can take that same Scripture, and take the map of where the Jews are setting today and prove to you they're exactly on the same spot that Jacob said they'd be in the last day. And they never did; they haven't been on that spot until they returned since May the seventh, 1946, the night the Angel of the Lord appeared to me up there and said for this mission.[12]
