If you have ever asked these kinds of questions, the answers may be nearer than you think.  You are unique on planet earth for your ability to even ask.  No animals can ask or even imagine such things - but you can.  Why?

Like a drowning man's passion for air, every human being has a longing for purpose, and the ability to believe.  The reason we have that desire is because there is a purpose for us to fulfill, and a God to believe in.  Just like fish were made for the sea, so man is made for God.

Before we continue with the questions about God, here is the answer: In the beginning God created a man and a woman, Adam and Eve.  Adam and Eve disobeyed God's one commandment.  Since then all the children of this cursed couple have been subject to death, suffering, and temptation.  God could have completely abandoned or obliterated the human race, but he instead chose to redeem his children (that is what he calls us) by sending his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins that we might live.
So how did we get in this place?  In the beginning God created a man and a woman, Adam and Eve.  Adam and Eve disobeyed the only commandment that God gave them, which came with consequences.  Since then, all the children of this couple have inherited the consequences of death and suffering.

    Consider the following questions:

    • Who is God?
    • What does He want from me?
    • If God is good and loving, why is there suffering in the world?

    How to find the answers?

If you have ever asked these kinds of questions, the answers may be nearer than you think. You are unique on planet Earth for your ability to even ask. No animal has ever asked or imagined these things - but you can. Why?

Like a drowning man's passion for air, every human being has a longing for purpose, and the ability to believe. The reason we have these desires is because there is a purpose for us to fulfill, and a God to believe in. Just like fish were made for the sea, so man is made for God.

A drowning man can fill his lungs with water, and every human being can fill their soul with something other than the love of God. The problem is that there is no substitute for air, and there is no substitute for God. Anything else brings death.

So how did we get in this place? In the beginning God created a man and a woman, Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve disobeyed the only commandment that God gave them, which came with consequences. Since then, all the children of this couple have inherited the consequences of death and suffering.

God could have completely abandoned or obliterated the human race, but he instead chose to redeem his children (that is what he calls us) by sending his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins that we might live. Those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and keep his Word, have eternal life.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. (I John 5:20)
